Rho Chi Zeta Chapter
Chapter History
Soror Keya Epps (organizer) had a pioneering spirit to charter a new graduate chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. ("Zeta"). Soror Epps observed that, although there were Zeta graduate chapters in Southeastern Pennsylvania, there was no active graduate chapter in Delaware County. The initial meeting of twelve sorority members took place in the spring of 2000. During the meeting, the members discussed their visions and goals, surveyed the needs of Delaware County and agreed that a new graduate chapter was what Delaware County needed!
Thus, the Rho Chi Zeta Chapter of Chester, PA ("Rho Chi Zeta") was chartered on May 26, 2000. Rho Chi Zeta's mission is to:
Promote the principles of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. (Service, Scholarship, Sisterhood, and the Ideal of Finer Womanhood) throughout Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The women of the "Remarkable" Rho Chi Zeta Chapter are committed to the development of personal excellence and empowerment among chapter members and the community. In addition to partnering with other Zeta chapters in Southeastern Pennsylvania and civic/social organizations of Delaware County, the chapter is determined to continue to promote Zeta as a premier organization and a household name.
In keeping with the mission of the chapter, the women of Rho Chi Zeta Chapter continue to give countless volunteer hours, love and commitment through service to the community while exemplifying the principles of Zeta. Volunteer activities include, but are not limited to, our U.P.L.I.F.T. (Utilizing Potential and Life Interests for Teens) Mentoring Program, the Annual March of Dimes Walk, and partnering with the Inter-Greek Council of Delaware County to prepare and serve Thanksgiving dinner to seniors.
